It's a flat upgrade over KOTOR1. The plot is infinitely better narratively and thematically at basically every level, and most gameplay frustrations are sanded off. Some drudgery persists.

Tolerable moments and some really inspired visuals squandered by legendarily bad writing. Whimsical in the wrong ways, like the target age demographic receded 10 years. John Williams tries his best, mostly.

Nothing to say that hasn't been said already. Whimsical in the right ways, legendary score, simple and compelling storytelling, fun worldbuilding. Aged basically flawlessly.

Like playing through my childhood memory of a simple, streamlined Star Wars. Some great art and character writing, but bad big-picture writing and a lot of tedium hold it back.

Prog rock majesty, dripping with sarcasm but cathartic and earnest at its core.

Delivers on all fronts, design- and gameplay-wise; it's already a personal all-time favorite. A fast track to robber baron Buddhism if your heart is true, with unforgettable experiences like Cryo in spades.

Virtually flawless, highly enjoyable, still genuinely frightening. Gorgeous lighting and great performances, though the late film Thing evolutions & related payoffs left a little to be desired for me.

It's not much more than a haunted house, but it's well done and gets a shocking amount of mileage out of the game's premise and limited scope. A pleasantly surprising, solidly functional movie.

A million miles greater than the sum of its parts, VtM:B lives and dies by its superb character writing, world intrigue, and subcultural savviness, which completely eclipse all of its flaws.
